financial planning services - medical specialist
          personal insurance cover

Offered exclusively through McLean Delmo Financial Services

Medical Specialist Personal Insurance Cover is the only insurance package that is specifically tailored to provide critical areas of cover for medical professionals and staff.

McLean Delmo's experience in advising the medical community has highlighted that Medical Specialists have unique insurance issues. Due to your training and experience, as well as the specialised nature of your roles, your requirements demand specific solutions that differ from the standard insurance products available. Medical Specialist Personal Insurance Cover provides these solutions - exclusively negotiated by McLean Delmo Financial Services.

Please read the following points and consider how they apply to your current insurance cover:

1.  Cover for you and your staff against 'Needlestick' accidents.

  • If you occupationally acquire HIV, Hep B or Hep C it is unlikely that your Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance will pay a lump sum as well as your income protection beyond 6 months. But it is possible to change this.
  • You should ensure your exposed staff members are individually covered if they occupationally acquire HIV, Hep B or Hep C. This can be done at minimal cost to you.

2.  Do you have TPD insurance as part of your Super fund?  Does it have the 'Own Occupation' definition which is essential for medical professionals?  If so, are you aware that if you are totally and permanently disabled and need to make a claim, the money will not normally be paid directly to you, but will be retained within the Super fund? Your TPD insurance must be structured to ensure you get a direct claim payment.

3.  Business Expenses - If you are temporarily disabled and cannot work, are your fixed business expenses such as salaries, rent, car leases and office costs covered by your Income Protection Insurance? For over 85% this is not the case.

McLean Delmo will make sure all of your insurance covers are up to date and in the right place. Don't wait until you need to make a claim to find out that there are gaps in your insurance.
